Trichlorousicyanuric acid, or technically called Trichloro-s-triazine
trione (TCCA ), belongs to chloroisocyanic acid. It is widely used
in such field as bleaching, sterilizing, and woollen sanforizing, etc.

I. Physical and chemical
characteristics of products:

Application of the product: TCCA is a new type and highly effective bleaching agent . Owing to such advantagous characteristics as high chlorine contents , high bleaching and sterilizing effects , stable storage , convenient transportation as well as environmental safety , it is applied in the following aspects : 1. Water treatment of swimming pool ;
TCCA can be prepared into various forms to meet various requirements
of the consumers .
(I). Water treatment: 1. Water treatment in swimming pool: The sterilization of swimming pool has been annoying for many years, since water has to be changed frequently without sterilization agent, otherwise, the breeding of bacteria may result in layers of slippery and dirty algae as well as the unpleasant odour. Compared with the most commonly used Ca(ClO2 ) sterilization agent, which is difficult to store, easy to dissolve and incrust and therefore requires additional acid for the adjustment of PH value, TCCA has the following advantages: 1).After releasing effective chlorine, the remaining
cyanuric acid stabilizes the effective chlorine in the water, which is
non - toxic;
TCCA is an ideal agent for the swimming pool water . The long term application can keep your swimming pool clear and free of any algae and slippery results. Sterilization of swimming pool by TCCA Dosage : 3- 5 g every day per cubic meter of water. 2. Sterilization of drinking water: Apart from killing various bacteria, microbes and algae, TCCA destroys
or eliminates such pollutants as H2S and therefore avoid any unpleasant
color or odor of the drinking water.
Dosage : 0.4 g TCCA every 100 kg of water . Mix uniformly and place for a certain period of time before use. 3. Treatment of industrial circulation cooling water: As far as industrial circulation cooling water is concerned, TCCA not only effectively kills every kinds of bacteria, but also provides such advantages of easy management and more safety over the adoption of common chlorine sterilization. Dosage : 0.5 g TCCA per cubic meter of water ,with the concentration of free chlorine in cooling water around 0.25-0.5 ppm and PH value at 7-8. When into water, TCCA releases HOCL which carries out an additive reaction with the conjugated bond of the fibers, destroys the original conjugative system, changes the light absorption wave of the fibers and therefore achieves the desired bleaching results. Furthermore, unlike other kinds of bleaching agents, the corrosion of fibers is reduced to the minimum extent, whereas, the elongation rate as well as tensile strength of fibers are enhanced to a great deal. Man-made fibers : 0.5-2.0 g TCCA /L , pH at 5.6 and operation temperature 70oC, with immersion time around 35 to 45 minutes. Synthetic fibers as polyester, acrylic fibers ,etc.: 9.3 g TCCA /L , 2.6 g CA/L , 2.06 g NaHCO3/L. Immerse the fibers at a temperature below 20oC, absorb 100% steam after drying, then heat the fibers. Following the process, immerse into the water which contains 8g/ L NaHSO3 and 1 ml/L HCL for 1 hour at 60oC. After rinse and dry the fibers, satisfactory bleaching results are obtained. Flax fibers : 5 g TCCA /L, pH 5.3-5.6 , at 60oC, immersion for a period of 50 minutes. Recommended dosage for laundry and family bleaching: 36 (wt)% TCCA , 25-40 (wt)% tri-poly sodium phosphate, 5(wt)% absolute
sodium silicate and proper amount of soda . Consumption of
this washing solution is 2.5-4.5 g/kg.
(III). Sterilization agent: TCCA is a new type of industrial and family oriented sterilization agent, with a distinguishing features for constant providing oxygen of certain concentration, and consequently both its hydrolysis residues and itself are harmless to human body. 1. Tableware sterilization: Add 0.25 g TCCA per 5 Kg of water and immerse the tableware into the sterilization solution for 5 minutes. 2. Disposal of sewage and excrement: Add 5 g TCCA per cubic meter of sewage and excrement to remove offensive smell. 3. Sterilization of seeds: During the sterilization process, TCCA may break up the resting period of seeds , promote germination percentage and prevent possible diseases of plant , meanwhile , it is harmless to human body and environmental friendly. Dosage: Adopting 0.2 % TCCA solution to immerse seeds for a period of 12 hours. 4. Sterilization in the field of sericulture and fishfarming: (1).Sterilization of sericulture environment: Sterilization by solution TCCA: Add 200 kg water per 1Kg of TCCA , mix uniformly until it dissolves, which will be ready to sterilization by means of spraying and immersion. Every 1 kg of solution can sterilize a space of 2-5 square meter. Sterilization by backing TCCA: Place the TCCA on a piece of iron plates using 5g per cubic meter ( the silkworm room must be closed ) and back it 15 minutes for sterilization purpose. Sterilization by powder TCCA: Mix with lime powder and white cement at a proportion of 1:200 - 1:500 according to the weight and the mixture is ready to sterilize the silkworm and relevant apparatus. (2) Fishfarming medicine (recommended use) a. Prevention against diseases: 0.2 ppm TCCA, to be applied every 10 days; b. Therapeutic treatment : If dead fish in the fish pond is found, spray the pond with 0.3 ppm TCCA for two days continuously when the disease is not very serious, apart from adding TCCA in fish food, equivalent to 50 grams per 50 kg of fish for five days continuously prepared by means of stirring a certain amount of bean powder or cassava powder with hot water into paste, mix with TCCA until it cools down and it is ready to feed the fish. Whereas, if the disease is serious, the concentration of TCCA to put into the pond can be raised to 0.4ppm and feeding frequency as well. 5. Hospital sewage and laundry sterilization: Compared with common sterilization agent, TCCA has much better and rapid results with its consumption only 1/100 or 1/1000 amount of common sterilization agent. * The above data is abstracted from the inspection report of our products made by Zhongshan Medical University . 6.Family or public garbage sterilization and deodorant: Composition: TCCA 25%, tri-poly sodium phosphate, paradichlorobenzene, applicable for the sterilization and deodorise of gabage can , sewer and so forth.
(IV) Woolen sanforizing treatment: The surface of woollen fibers is covered with a layer of scales. With the relative movement of scales, a kind of felting reaction takes place that causes the woollen fibers to shrink both verticlly and horizentally. TCCA not only reduces felting reaction, but also applies gloss on the wollen fibers and improves its dyeability. The shrinkage reduced from originally 35 % to less than 5%. Furthermore, the woollen fibers are free of any raising. (V) Disposal of industrial wastes and other applications: 1. Disposal of sewage containing CN or Hg: With a conversion rate of 99.9%, TCCA converts CN into harmless substance within 5-10 minites. 2.Adhesive conditioner: When dissolved with ethyl ester, TCCA provides surface treatment on the sole of leather shoes which may accelarate the penetration of adhesive agent, thus double its adhesive strength. 3.Prevention and curer of crops diseases: Diluted with water, which is 500 to 800 times the amount of TAAC, the ability of crops to prevent and cure such diseases as blight, atrophy, smut and rust will be greatly enhanced.
III. Precautions for transportation and storage: 1.TCCA and its series products must be kept away from acidic, alkali
and organic substances during the transportation period;
